Deforestation
Deforestation, or cutting down
forests, is a big problem for Bangladesh and the whole world. Trees are super
important! They clean the air we breathe by soaking up carbon dioxide and
releasing oxygen. They also give homes to lots of animals and protect the soil
from washing away during floods and storms. Unfortunately, forests are being
cut down for many reasons. Sometimes people need wood for fuel or to build
houses. Other times, forests are cleared to make space for farms, factories, or
roads. When we cut down too many trees, it causes several problems. We lose the
homes of animals, which can lead to them disappearing. The soil becomes weaker
and more likely to flood. And because there are fewer trees to clean the air,
pollution gets worse, and the climate changes. We need to protect our forests!
We can do this by planting more trees, using less paper, and finding other ways
to get the things we need without harming the environment. Saving our forests
helps save our future!
